Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM)

Overview

Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery, or ANM, is the complete name in medicine. The two-year ANM nursing diploma program concentrates on giving individuals, families, and communities basic nursing care. Anatomy, physiology, nutrition, community health nursing, maternity and child healthcare, first aid, and midwifery are among the subjects covered in an ANM course.

Graduates of ANM courses are essential in basic healthcare settings, especially in rural areas, where they support disease prevention, healthcare delivery, and health education. Graduates of ANM programs frequently work under the direction of doctors or registered nurses.The entire term for Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery is ANM. Students learn how to set up an operating room, maintain various pieces of equipment, keep accurate records, and give patients their medications on time. Students who wish to pursue ANM must receive a minimum of 50% overall in their 10+2 exams. Furthermore, they have to be younger than eighteen.

Eligibility

• The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which admission is sought. The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
• The minimum educational requirements shall be 10 + 2 in Arts (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Science or Health care Science ‐ Vocational stream ONLY passing out from recognized Board.
• Student shall be medically fit.
• Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination conducted by National Institute of Open School.
• Student shall be admitted once in a year.
