Associate Fellow of Industrial Health (AFIH)

1. The institute is managed by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
2. The course is a 3 months full time Post Graduate Certificate course in Industrial Health, approved by Directorate General Factory Advice Service & Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.
3. On completion of course an examination will be conducted by DGFASLI and successful candidates will be awarded Associate Fellow of Industrial Health (AFIH) which will fulfill the requirements in terms of additional qualification for Factory Medical Officers of Hazardous Process Industries as required under the Factories (Amendment) Act 1987.
4. The laboratories are equipped with the modern instruments.
5. Course Seats: Total 25 seats only including SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH/ EWS Reservation as per Government of India rules applicable.

HOW TO APPLY:

The application fee of INR 500/- to be paid by NEFT mode (details below). The filled application form and required documents to be submitted before the last date of application submission. Applicants working in Govt/ Public Sector Undertakings/ Private Industries etc should apply through proper channel.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION:

1. Application Form has attached here under "Download" button.
2. Applications complete in all respects along with self attested photo copies of certificates in duplicate shall be prepared and one set of the application to be sent by post to “The Director, ICMR-National Institute of Occupational Health, Meghaninagar, Ahmedabad, 380016, Gujarat, India” and email in single PDF format (Email ID as mentioned here on, click on "View Contact Details").
3. The other set of the application to be sent via Email and Post to The Member Secretary, AFIH Academic Council, Room No. 302, 2nd Floor, CLI Main Building, N.S.Mankiker Marg, Sion, Mumbai 400022 and email in a single PDF format to afih.ac@dgfasli.nic.in.
4. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed “APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION INTO AFIH < Academic Year >: Institute Code- 11”.

1. MBBS degree (Convocation Certificate)
2. Internship Certificate
3. MCI/State Medical Council Registration Certificate
4. SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH/ EWS Certificate issued by the competent authority, if applicable
5. Experience Certificate
6. Sponsorship Certificate/ No Objection Certificate in original, if employed
7. If there is a change in the name of applicant, copy of Gazette of India and Medical Council Registration with the changed name should be provided. (Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected).

SELECTION CRITERIA:

1. A merit list will be prepared on the basis of candidate's academic qualification, experience and type of industry employed.
2. The candidates will be selected in the Order of Preference viz., Medical Officers working in the Hazardous Industries/ Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Manufacturing Industries (Non-Hazardous) etc.
3. Only Short listed candidates will be called for interview. List of selected Candidates will also be displayed on NIOH official website.
4. The candidates sponsored by the Industries, Government, Public Sector Undertakings should enclose the relevant documents mentioned in the annexures and candidate is responsible for collection of fees from their employer. This centre will not do any correspondence regarding fees with their employers.

COURSE FEE:

INR 45,000/- for industry sponsored candidates and INR 40,000/- for self financed candidates. The course fee to be paid through NEFT as mentioned details below. Payment has to be made on Confirmation of admission letter only.
