Army Institute of Nursing, Guwahati was established in the year 2006 under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society. The institute aims to impart quality education to the wards of serving and ex-servicemen of the Indian Army and other Defence forces. As a welfare measure, 10% of seats are reserved for civilian students (girls) who are domiciled in seven North East States. The Institute is recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and Assam Nurses Midwives and Health Visitors’ Council, Assam and is affiliated to the Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences, Assam.
