To cater to the large volume of patients coming from the southern part of the state, a centre was established at Tirunelveli in 1988. It has facilities to accommodate 150 paying and 350 free patients. The hospital is an accredited teaching institution. In the year ending March 2021, Aravind- Tirunelveli handled over 419,245 outpatient visits and performed over 41,809 surgeries.
