Apollo Hospitals started its operations in Kakinada in the year 2004 first as a Franchise with a trade name as “Apollo Samudra Hospital”. On 26th February 2005 the former chief minister Dr. YS Rajsekhar Reddy inaugurated and dedicated to nation. On 21st September 2005 it was taken over by Apollo Hospitals group.
