The Advanced Lung Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Lung Transplant Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is a one-year advanced fellowship designed for physicians pursuing academic and clinical careers in pulmonary vascular disease and transplant pulmonology. The fellowship combines immersive clinical training with structured research and individualized mentorship. Fellows spend six months focusing on pulmonary vascular disease and six months in lung transplantation, managing complex pre- and post-transplant patients while participating in multidisciplinary conferences and transplant selection meetings. Training includes advanced diagnostic procedures such as right heart catheterization, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, cardiac imaging, and comprehensive management of pulmonary hypertension and end-stage lung disease. A strong emphasis is placed on scholarly activity, with fellows expected to complete an independent research project and present their work at national or international scientific meetings.
