Adult Structural Interventional Cardiology Fellowship

1. Completion of a recognized ACGME-accredited Interventional Cardiology Fellowship.
2. Advanced competency in interventional techniques and cardiovascular care.
3. Strong clinical performance during prior fellowship training.
4. Submission of required fellowship application materials (CV, references, cover letter, etc.).
5. Appropriate medical licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure where required.

The Adult Structural Interventional Fellowship at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center is a one-year advanced subspecialty program that prepares experienced interventional cardiologists for leadership in complex structural heart disease interventions. The fellowship emphasizes hands-on clinical experience with cutting-edge procedures such as transcatheter valve replacement and repair (including aortic, mitral, tricuspid, and pulmonary valves), transcatheter edge-to-edge mitral/tricuspid repair, left atrial appendage occlusion, ASD/PFO closure, paravalvular leak repair, and balloon valvuloplasty. Fellows also participate in percutaneous thrombectomy and advanced peripheral vascular interventions. The program operates within a high-volume structural heart center that conducts extensive procedural volumes and participates in clinical trials involving novel valvular therapies. Trainees work closely with a multidisciplinary structural heart team, including interventional cardiologists, imaging specialists, anesthesiologists, and cardiac surgeons, and participate in weekly structural heart conferences. Faculty mentorship and clinical responsibility equip fellows to deliver advanced procedural care and integrate research and evidence-based practice into their clinical roles.
