The Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) specialization at UTMB is part of the MSN advanced practice nursing program designed to prepare nurses for high-acuity clinical roles caring for adult through geriatric populations across acute care environments. Eligibility

  1. BSN degree from an accredited university.
  2. Active, valid, unencumbered RN license in the U.S. state(s) where clinical learning occurs.
  3. Minimum GPA ≥ 3.0 overall and for upper division coursework.
  4. Minimum one year of RN experience in acute care (e.g., ICU/ED) is required.
  5. Required certifications: BLS and ACLS.
  6. Required application materials include resume/CV, official transcripts, personal statement, and three professional reference letters.
